United Performance Metals California Facility Grows

Hamilton, Ohio - April 9, 2012 -- United Performance Metals continues to grow its presence on the West Coast by adding processing capabilities for flat-rolled product and offering in-house shearing and slitting to its California branch. Located in La Mirada, California, UPM's west coast service center has a strong inventory of specialty stainless and high temperature alloy sheet and coil on the floor that can be further processed to a customer's specific requirements. "It's important to support our growing west coast customer base with material that can be quickly delivered" confirmed Chris Weber, Regional Account Manager. "In most cases, we are only a day or two away from anyone on the West Coast." United Performance Metals established its first California branch in 2008 with a facility in Sante Fe Springs.

They quickly outgrew the 13,000 square foot space and moved into their current home in La Mirada in the summer of 2011. With 52,000 square feet of offices and equipment, the West Coast facility is prepared to accommodate continued growth in the region. Annette Tiesman, Executive Vice President, feels that the addition of slitting in La Mirada, CA places United Performance Metals in a better position to more quickly service customer needs. "We are happy with our current growth on the West Coast," Tiesman says. "Our goal is simple - Have the correct inventory on the floor ready for immediate processing and delivery."
