UPM Has a “Nose” for Helping Kids!

On this special occasion, staff members of United Performance Metals put on a happy face…and a big, red nose.

Red Nose Day began in 1988 as a fundraiser to end child poverty around the world. To date, Red Nose Day has raised over $1 billion globally.  Celebrated in the United States on May 25th, funds raised support programs in all 50 states and in some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Asia and Africa.  These projects ensure kids are safe, healthy, educated, and empowered.

In 2016, 2,659,642 children’s lives were directly impacted through a program supported by the initiative, including meals for kids through Feeding America food banks, life-saving vaccines through the Children’s Health Fund, safe summer and after school play areas with Boys & Girls Club of America, clean water access in Uganda, tuition, supplies and textbooks in a developing country provided by Save the Children, and essential food clothing, shelter and medical care for homeless children through Covenant House.

From coast to coast, people are showing off their red noses, including those of us with United Performance Metals, to help make the world a better place for kids.  UPM purchased 134 noses among its branches in the U.S.A. and collected several hundred dollars in cash donations from employees and a matching gift from the company to support the cause.
