Turning Dresses Into Dreams for Local High School Students

Cinderella's Closet provides formal wear to girls who could not otherwise afford to attend their prom. Through donations of new and gently used formal dresses and accessories, Cinderella’s Closet can "Turn Dresses Into Dreams" for juniors and seniors referred to the organization by their school, community organization or social care agency.

Employees and their families from United Performance Metals lent a hand to this deserving group by collecting dresses, shoes and jewelry for its cause and bringing them to the local Cinderella’s Closet outreach destination at Center Pointe Church in Liberty Township, Ohio.

Volunteers then participated in the exciting give-away weekend by becoming personal shoppers dubbed “Fairy Godmothers”, alterations seamstresses, dress steamers and delivery fairies for each “Princess” who participated.

Simple Acts of Kindness

Cinderella's Closet strived to provide an unforgettable experience for volunteers and students alike.  From the moment the young ladies entered the shopping destination, they were greeted with an environment of grace, love and respect.  Volunteers were moved by each girl they met; recognizing the profound impact of a simple act of kindness.

Cinderella's Closet originated as a ministry of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park, KY in 2006 and has now grown to other churches throughout the country; each founded on the belief that providing formalwear is a simple way to show God's extraordinary love to some amazing young women.
