Welcome 2026 Summer Interns

Braden Greer is an incoming junior at the University of Kentucky when he is studying mechanical engineering. Braden will be working with the UPM Advanced Solutions team where he is excited to gain experience and make valuable contributions to the company. Braden loves sports, especially basketball, football, and golf. 

Dimitri Garrett will be working in Operations for UPM this summer. He is going to be a freshman in the fall studying computer science at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. During his internship, Dimitri will be working on the shear and is excited to learn more about the metals industry as a whole. In his free time, he enjoys programming, playing soccer, and spending time with his friends and family. 

Ethan Smearsoll is a returning intern who will be going into his junior year at the University of Cincinnati where he is studying aerospace engineering. During Ethan’s last internship with the UPM Advanced Solutions team, he learned about engineering processes, excel, and practical organizational skills. This summer, Ethan is hoping to see some of the results of his work last year and looks forward to gaining more software experience in an engineering environment. In his free time, Ethan likes to run, play intramural volleyball, snowboard, hang out with friends, and read.

Ian Ellis is an incoming junior at The Ohio State University where he studies finance and accounting. Ian will be working within the UPM Sales department and looks forward to gaining valuable hands-on experience while building relationships and learning how different fields contribute to businesses. Outside of work, Ian enjoys playing lacrosse, working out, and spending time with his friends and family.

Jacob Goldberg is a returning intern and an incoming junior at Purdue Fort Wayne University. He is currently studying mechanical engineering technology. Jacob is continuing as an intern for the UPM Advanced Solutions Team where he is looking to learn more about processes and floor work. Jacob is a huge football, basketball, volleyball, and baseball fan and he is hoping to join PFW’s new club volleyball team. 

Jonathan Bowden is a returning intern and will be going into his fourth year at Cedarville University in the fall. He is majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in math and bible studies. Last year, Jonathan interned with UPM’s Quality department, where he learned about metal certifications, specifications, and writing work instructions. This summer, Jonathan is looking forward to learning more about the audit process. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys playing piano, rock climbing, birding, and astrophotography.  

Joseph Jennings is an incoming sophomore at the University of Cincinnati studying statistics. Joseph will be part of UPM’s Supply Chain team, where he is eager to get hands on experience in the workforce and explore the intricacies of supply chain. In his free time, Joseph is in the jazz band and UC symphony orchestra where he plays Trombone. He is also the president of the UC chapter of SIAM.

Kavyan Adhikari is a returning intern with the UPM Information Technology department. He is going into his fourth year at The Ohio State University where he is majoring in computer science and engineering and minoring in mathematics. Kavyan is hoping to continue learning more about developing real-world applications during his internship. Outside of work, Kavyan enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and hiking.

Luke Peterson is an incoming senior at Xavier University where he is majoring in computer science with a minor in business analytics. Luke will be joining the UPM Quality department and is looking forward to gaining knowledge and skills needed to work in quality control within the specialty metals industry. In addition to his studies, Luke is on the Xavier swim team and enjoys camping and reading in his free time. 

Sebastian White is an incoming senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign where he is studying aerospace engineering. While working with the Fabrisonic team, Sebastian is hoping to get hands on experience working in manufacturing and strengthen his CAD skills as well as his understanding of how UAM is used in complex designs. Outside of work, Sebastian enjoys playing sports, video games, and music.  

Tina Leara is a rising senior at Creighton University and is double majoring in BIA (business intelligence and analytics) and marketing. During her time with the IT department, Tina is looking to develop her skills in Power BI. Outside of work and school, Tina likes to read, hike, and hang out with her friends. 

Tucker Groomes is working with Fabrisonic this summer and is an incoming senior at The Ohio State University where he is studying mechanical engineering. During his internship, Tucker is excited to learn and hopes to get the opportunity to continue working with Fabrisonic in the future. In his free time, Tucker likes to go fishing, work out, and create things using 3D printers.
