Chamfering & Facing

Chamfering is commonly used for cutting symmetrical and consistent grooves in the teeth of a gear and is suitable for round, square or hexagonal bars. This operation typically involves the creation of a bevel at the edge of a workpiece, removing burs and prepping the material before moving to a CNC machine process.  Facing is the operation of machining the ends of a piece of work to produce a flat surface square with the axis.
