United Performance Metals Increases Specialty Presence With Purchase of Plus Ten Stainless
Hamilton, OH September 7, 2011 -- United Performance Metals has acquired Plus Ten Stainless, a premier specialty plate distributor in the San Francisco, Bay area. In addition to carrying an inventory of the most common grades of stainless steel plate, Plus Ten Stainless boasts one of the largest inventories of PRODEC® Plate on the West Coast. The addition of Plus Ten Stainless compliments United Performance Metals’ current focus on specialty stainless and high performance flat products. “The acquisition of Plus Ten Stainless provides another opportunity to bolster our position as a premier distributor of niche oriented grades, while strengthening the presence we have built in the West Coast market over the past several years,” said United Performance Metals President, Tom Kennard. In addition to Plus Ten Stainless operations, United Performance Metals also operates a service center in La Mirada, California. Plus Ten Stainless will maintain its own identity and continue to operate as an independent business unit that is overseen by Todd Rhodes.
